Children naturally
know how to learn all that is needed by remaining present in each moment. Nothing needs to be added, but merely
supported. This is the way walking and talking are learned and is the natural
way that everything can be learned. But
how can children remain inwardly directed in school when they are forced to go
against themselves to focus on personally irrelevant topics or tasks? In this
way, schools prevent them from knowing themselves, and without self knowledge
it is difficult to create a meaningful life. It is harmful, therefore, to place a child in
any environment that does not allow the “inner curriculum”to be of utmost
importance.
